The Story

An inspired designer.

For over forty years, Susan Green has created one of a kind and limited edition jewelry sought by many of the country’s finest stores, galleries, and collectors of contemporary wearable art from New York to London to Tokyo. Susan Green Jewelry has appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, The New York Times, Essence, Interview, People, Town & Country, Esquire, Focus, Ornament, and others. Her pieces are distinguished by their high level of artisanship, beautiful colorations and unusual materials. Susan translates cross-cultural influences and images from nature into elegant, synthesized contemporary design. There is a feeling of ritual and adornment in her work which communicates a sense of pleasure to the wearer.

A series of synchronicities.

A series of synchronicities led Susan to a group of special angel figures sculpted by James Love. She was drawn to the angels the first time she saw them. They had a beautiful, organic form that felt magical to her. She knew immediately she wanted to make jewelry with them and learn about the artist who made them.

James Love was a jeweler in El Paso. He was working in wax when he discovered that angel-like shapes were being formed from small pieces of wax that fell to the table as he worked. “The angels created themselves,” he said. He made molds of the figures and cast them. He gave them to people who were sick or grieving, for healing and comfort.

A connection.

Unfortunately, James had passed away a few years before Susan sought him out. Since that time, several people had asked to work with the angel designs, but Love’s wife declined to give that permission. Although Susan was a stranger to her, when she was asked if she could use the molds, Ms. Love agreed. She felt the angels wanted to work with Susan. Susan began to incorporate the angels in her designs and Love Angels Jewelry was born.

Susan loves working with the angels, and in doing so, she’s come to understand that it’s not just the beautiful objects of the angel pendants that are present. There is a whole angelic realm connected to them that wishes to work with us and bring more loving to humanity. They are available to bless our lives.

An Invitation.

These angels touch people who see them, people who wear them and people who notice them on others. Susan has learned that angels will not impose their presence on us, but they will come at our invitation. The angel pendants serve as a reminder to call on their assistance and to connect with this loving realm. The necklaces are an ever-present invitation to call on angels for healing, comfort, inspiration, guidance and protection.

A portion of the proceeds from Love Angels Jewelry is donated to a fund to provide assistance to James Love’s son, Christopher Green Love, (no relation to Susan Green), who has suffered a brain aneurysm.
